Charo Corrales
March-April 2020. Cotton fabric embroidered with threads of various colors. 140 x 73 cm (Textile work that was made during the cofining)
This piece is a banner, which summarizes messages found and written on the street and on social networks in response to the covid-19 pandemic. The messages have been embroidered covered with plants, leaves, branches and flowers; vegetation breaks through.
While our life seems to have stopped, -the majority of us are confined in our houses and now we are mere spectators through the terraces or windows- Nature flourishes more strongly, taking advantage of the fact that we pollute less.
The work is a call to connect with Nature and to be grateful for the life it gives us. It aims to push us to reflect on the impact of man's daily action on his natural environment and the way in which he relates to other living beings.
