Goddesses of Nature
For many years I have been creating art under the influence of Anatolian Goddess figurine artifacts that represent fertility, abundancy and motherhood. At Casa Algaia I wanted to create newer versions of Goddesses that represent the fertile grounds of Aguarón, the creativity of all the artists and also the fearless-powerful women. Some are called Deer Woman-Goddess of Animals, Mermaid, Sharpy Goddess, Turquoise Goddess, Blue Ancient Aguarón Goddess, Recycling Goddess, Gardener-Goddess of Gardens and Swallow-Goddess of Birds.
These 12 Goddess figures are made from found objects like broken plates, ceramic tile pieces, metal objects from the Landfill of Aguarón and also some objects like plastic caps, stones, pine cones, tree barks and branches are found from the property of Casa Algaia. They are arranged and bound together with colored metal wires. All these different Goddesses were exhibited by hanging at a hand made tree installation which was made from fallen trees and branches and took part in the "Milky Way" area.
