Nest_lings
A self-therapeutic durational practice, “nest_lings” is a site-specific project and performance. It dwells in the poetics of nests as spaces of intimacy and shelter. Inspired by natural techniques researched from bird worlds and Gaston Bachelard’s “poetics of space”/ reveries of matter, during each of the seven days of the residency, I've followed a mindful practice of building up a human-size nest sourced entirely from the surrounding environment (Casa Algaia, Aguarón, Spain). As a metaphor for my relation to inhabiting/ b e i n g Nature, "nest_lings" has been a search for the body’s deep immersion in the natural landscape, the creation of a “home” or safe-space where it could fit, culminating in the hatching of my first solo performance. The live bird-sound-interventions and collective “bird chatter” soundscape generously offered phonic insulation to my incubating dreams. In simpler words, you can call it auto-biographically performed earth-art.
